Attack Attack!

Columbus, OH may not bring us much, but they have brought us Attack Attack! They’ve been said to be one of the few bands that uses techno influences well, ever since it became more and more popular to include keyboards and synthesizers into screamo/hardcore/metal influenced music.

Signing to Rise Records in 2008, they released their debut album, Someday Came Suddenly. Stick Stickly was the popular single off the album, and demonstrated the talent of the band as a whole. With catchy lyrics and upbeat hardcore tempos, Attack Attack! brings a lot of justice to a genre that seems to be hated on by a lot of critics.

Just recently, their main screaming vocalist, Nick Barham, left the band. Caleb Shomo, who was previously just synthesizers and keyboard, took over the main vocalist spot. And while they’ve had a few member changes over the years, I had a chance to talk with one of the original and founding members, Andrew Whiting.
