I am one of the millions of drivers that owns a Saturn, and I am sad to hear that due to the untimely economy, Saturn plants in the US are closing down.

Wave bye, bye!!
But wait.. there seems to be a twist to this? Oh yeah, due to Obama’s bailout plan crap, it seems like the companies took the bailout money… are closing down the plants here.. and re-opening in Mexico? Oh, I see! So 250,000 American workers are out of jobs, but now other countries will reap the benefits of the plants there (jobs, etc..) but it will cost the big-timers less money! Wow, Obama, thanks!!
Many of you are probably confused about the situation, and as am I! I heard Saturn plants were closing down, yet I still see Saturn commercials all the time on TV. As far as I’ve heard, they haven’t declared bankruptcy just yet, but most of the plants are deciding to jump ship now before that happens.
The NY Times reported:
Across all brands, about 900 dealerships closed in 2008, according to the National Automobile Dealers Association, which expects 1,200 more to shut down in 2009.
“I see no future in the brand,” said Jeff Lundquist, who is closing Saturn of Corpus Christi after 15 years. “I will immediately become profitable by dropping Saturn, just because of the expense of the franchise. So rather than just sit here like an idiot and throw good money after bad while we wait, I pulled the trigger.”

I even found a pole online of Would You Buy a Saturn Made in Mexico? on a website called SaturnFans.com
The results?
| Yes | 37 | 12.46% | |
| No | 231 | 77.78% | |
| Don’t Care | 29 | 9.76% |

The red version of my sweeeeet Saturn.
I read a little further down on the website that has this poll, and it gets quite humorous. People start getting really defensive over the fact that most people said they wouldn’t buy a Saturn made in Mexico, and then one post tried to clear things up:
You’re reading way to much into the original question… it has nothing to do with stereotyping anyone. The intent of the question was to find how Saturn owners and fans felt about Saturns being built outside of the US. At the time, there were strong rumors that the next generation VUE may built in Mexico (there still are those rumors, but nothing has been made official by Saturn). If the rumors suggested China, England, or Spain, the question would have included one of those countries instead.
Thank God. Ha ha, I’ve always said that people in this country, or people in general, are offended way too easily. I mean, I’m someone that takes things personally, so if I think someone is getting offended too easily, they totally have to be
I think that people are worried too much about being “politically correct” and all that junk, when people need to just relax and realize that not EVERYTHING is trying to attack someone. Just because I say I don’t listen to rap music doesn’t mean I hate black people. Ha ha, GET IT?? Geez, people are so naive. It’s the same concept, just because a person says they wouldn’t buy a Mexican made Saturn, doesn’t mean they’re attacking Mexicans! It really makes me want to scream. And you know, to top it all off, who cares?? If someone doesn’t like something, who cares what their reasons are? I could say “I don’t like it.. just because” and that’s all you need to know. People don’t have to justify everything they think or feel, that’s why a feeling can’t really be explained.
So yeah.. I hope everyone enjoys watching Obama’s shitty plans crumble one by one. However, since the government controls most of the media now a days, there will be a nice twist to all this to make sure our Lord Obama doesn’t come off looking like an asshole, and most dum dums will believe it. Good luck with that!!
