Elephants vs. Donkeys

*ding*

I was doing some random research on differences between conservatives and liberals. However, I must admit that I wasn’t necessarily looking for the differences, but I wanted to see how different people explained the differences. Make sense? Ha ha.. if not, I’m sorry. I am always humored to see how differently people explain the same thing, depending on which side they’re on.

Abortion is always a good one- a liberal will be like “Republicans are against abortion… because they can’t get laid anyway.” While a conservative may say something like, “Democrats are for abortion because they are devil-spawned, baby killers.” Now, while each statement starts off to be true, they both lead into an exaggeration (obviously). I’m not shy about saying that I’m republican, however, you will never catch me being so extreme as to call a democrat a baby-killer or anything of the sort. I don’t stereotype every democrat to feel the same on every issue, because I am not the same as every republican on every issue. This is one reason I am so fond of McCain, he doesn’t just do something because it’s the “republican” way, he does what he sincerely believes is better for us, and I highly respect that. I’m mostly party loyal, but that’s because I believe in what they’re saying- not justbecause they are a republican. I always look at both sides of an argument and make an educated decision. It’s funny, liberals are constantly accusing republicans of being judgemental, yet they are the first and fastest to cast their judgement on someone, simply because they think differently. *sigh* I’ve said it too many times, people!

Anyway- back to the research… I came across this organized comparison of conservatives vs. liberals that seems to be pretty accurate (and pretty damn neutral… I mean, comparatively, to what’s out there, this is one of the most neutral things I have ever seen).Â

Conservatives – Pro-life for the innocent.
Liberals – Pro-abortion for the innocent.

Conservatives – Pro capital punishment for the guilty.
Liberals – Pro life for the guilty.

Conservatives – Favor the right to self-defense aka the Second Amendment.
Liberals – Favor gun confiscation ala Nazi Germany.

Conservatives – Favor an end to the federal income tax.
Liberals – Favor the IRS and the status quo…would enact 100% taxation if they could.

Conservatives – Favor private property rights.
Liberals – Believe everything belongs to the government.

Conservatives – Favor American sovereignty.
Liberals – Want to give all power to the United Nations.

Conservatives – Believe that liberty means the right to do good.
Liberals – Believe that liberty means the right to do anything you please, no matter who gets hurt (unless you’re a conservative).

Conservatives – Favor personal and parental control over the thoughts of ourselves and our children.
Liberals – Favor governmental control over the thoughts of everyone

haaa ha.

how can u call that unbiased? all that shit posted there makes liberalism seem terrible but i too look at both sides equally and not just listen to the same bullshit media outlet that you clearly listen to. fox news sux!I listen to them but i hardly ever feel it is biased lol at least all the other stations will bring a republican on and not ridicule him. and by the way, punk is liberal.

Yes, I will comment on my own site to reply to Jimmy…
    Dear Jimmy,
Comparitively, it is the most unbiased I have seen yet. Liberalism, overall, is pretty awful =) It’s my site and it’s how I feel, hence, I can say what I want. muah ah ahhh..
Oh, and Fox News rules. FYI: they supported Hilary big time, never dogged her at all. They dog Obama because he sucks and is clearly not qualified to run a country.
And punk IS liberal? That statement alone tells me you are anything but punk. In all actuality, punk would be NO government and rebel against all (anarchy). Duh. Punk is going against the grain.. and liberalism IS the “popular” thing to do. Punk, popular? You know nothing. Thinking for yourself despite how other think/if they agree, IS punk. Thanks for the comment! haha
    Love,
    Denise
