Anyone familiar with the band, ICP, knows that their lyrics aren’t exactly “nice.” Anything from chopping off your head, beating you with a baseball bat, killing your cat and putting it in your mailbox.. there is no “killing” stone left unturned in their lyrics. Normally, people don’t take things like that so literally, however recently a few kids did and someone had to pay with their life.
Noisecreep.com reports on the incident:
“Last Monday, Anthony Locascio, 21, was lured to the woods by four acquaintances and struck with metal baseball bats 60 to 80 times, allegedly for ratting on a friend. Jeffrey A. Gombert, 19 and Curtis T. Foose, 25 of Hazleton; Andrew A. Tutko, 19 of McAdoo and Shane D. Roof, 20, formerly of Palmerton, were all charged with homicide, conspiracy, and aggravated assault. Locascio, Gombert and Foose refer to Insane Clown Posse on their MySpace pages, while the paper cites a source close to the investigation as saying that all five involved were Juggalos.”

Due to incidences like this one, ICP fans are almost in the “gang” classification. Not that I am an ICP fan by ANY MEANS, but it is sad when “one person ruins it for the rest,” as they say. It’s kind of like when someone covered in tattoos is a total scumbag that never does anything with their life, people stereotype people with tattoos to not be professional and likely a scumbag… which is NOT true in all cases. I mean, pretty much anyone can be stereotyped to be anything if you just look at a select few people. But that’s not the point here…
The point is, ICP isn’t singing this crap to try to get you to go out and literally beat someone to death with a bat, and so by these kids doing it, can you blame ICP at all? It seems their lyrics were a heavy influence on the incident, but legally, I’m not sure if they can be held liable for anything. I guess we’ll see!!

Okay..I don’t have anything against juggalos, there just misunderstood people who for the most part probably come from broken homes and just want to fit in somewhere with people like them, who aren’t quick to pass judgement. However I HATE ICP because I think that they are responsible for misleading and brainwashing countless amounts of vulnerable, lost ppl with their abrasive, meaningless and insipid music. For some people who have nothing else, music and therefore by extension musicians is everything they have and if ICP really cared about their “family” then they’d care about the music they put out and the messages and impact it would have on their malleable fans. Everyone in this world has a place and can eventually find a group of people that will accept them and love them for who they are, a bunch of losers wearing makeup should never be anyone’s role models. If your different and want to feel at home for once and not like a lost sheep then painting ur face and donning what thousands of people are wearing is not going to solve your problem…..to all you juggalos out there…find yourself, people should be able to identity you as you, not for being a juggalo.

I like I.C.P. and people should have a right to their own opinion and if they think ICP is stupid that’s them. However you really can’t say people are evil are evil or stupid because of what they listen to or read/watch really you’ve got to judge by actions and just because ICP raps about killing really people like listening to that sort of music so they can make money off it and earlier I read they donate to charities and I’ve read about them as well and seen that and from what I read they started as a sort of vision from god although there’s no way to ever know for sure if that’s true and they may be tricking every one and may be trying to form a giant Manson cult but mainly what I’m saying is that saying ICP and Juggalos are evil because of lyrics in songs then your to quick to judge and should take more time to make your thoughts on someone or to put it as short as possible don’t judge a book by its cover but its contents.

Okay…so I k ow this is an old post and I am late on this discussion; however, I would like to add my piece. Many people hate insane clown posse and they definitely hate their fans. Who could blame them? I don’t. Now, Juggalos don’t come at me sideways for this, but being a juggalo for so fucking long I have seen mu family go from strong and supportive to scattered and radical. And not that radical is bad, but you make it really hard to defend you as a family when you show no intelligence for the article or respect for other opinions. You see their opinions merely matter to them and their hate is what makes me glad I am an individual.
By the way, I am not just some scumbag from the street nor am I a joke of any sorts. I am a full-time straight A college student. Trust and believe that I have been through my fair share of shit…but really, who hasn’t? MCL. truly I love my family and every living breathing creature on this planet. Exception crickets….bleh
