Just when you start to lose faith in new music, bands like Living with Lions come out with albums like this, and you’re stoked again. Â These guys aren’t new to the music world, but they’re new to me. Â If you haven’t heard them before, Holy Shit is a great start.
Not all the tracks are my favorite, but overall I enjoyed this album. Â It brings back a sort of old school, upbeat vibe similar to what 90’s pop punk was. Â Some songs are a little on the repetitive side, such as Whatever You Want. Â As much as I like hearing a guy say, “You get what you want, whatever you want,” over and over, I can’t say it’s my favorite song on the album. Â I think When We Were Young is probably my vote for my favorite track on the album. Â It’s catchy, smooth and upbeat and a great way to end the album. Â Songs like Pieces are a bit more mellow, but catch that same comfortable 90’s feeling of songs that just make you feel good and want to sing along.
After seeing them live and listening to this album over and over, I can say that I’m a fan. Â Check them out and pick up Holy Shit on Tuesday. Yes.
