Lord Obama, as I like to refer to him (sense the sarcasm…) is scheduled to give the commencement speech at Notre Dame University’s upcoming graduation, but it looks like it may not happen.
According to Fox News, ten priests are objecting to his appearance saying having Obama speak could risk the school’s “true soul” and cause unwanted distance from the Roman Catholic Church.
Fox reports, “Notre Dame announced last month that Obama would deliver the university’s May 17 commencement address and receive an honorary degree. The decision by the nation’s best-known Catholic university sparked widespread anger among many Catholics who said Notre Dame should not honor someone whose policies on abortion and embryonic stem-cell research clash with core church teachings on human life.”
The article also states, “Jenkins has said the university does not condone all of Obama’s policies, and spokesman Dennis Brown has said Notre Dame does not plan to rescind the invitation.”
And YES I stole this title. I’m not Joe Biden, I can clearly recognize and admit to using others’ work, aka. site my sources. But hey, he’s only Vice President of the United States, I guess we don’t care if he’s honest or gets kicked out of presidential races because of plagiarizing! But that’s besides the point… moving on.
While I usually vote Republican, I don’t personally think abortion should be a huge factor in why someone votes for a candidate. I mean, the abortion laws, in my opinion, won’t really effect this country in the ways that policies such as their views on Irag/Afghanistan, taxes, welfare, poverty, etc… But when it comes to a school such as Notre Dame, I can completely understand how they would take such a matter so seriously. It doesn’t mean they don’t hate all his policies, but that specific one is important to Catholics so, I understand where this is all stemming from. Honestly, I wouldn’t want him speaking at my graduation so.. ha ha.. there ya have it! =) Now.. Glen Danzig would be a sweet commencement speaker. When’s that crap going down? Oh wait, I already graduated college and I had to miss my graduation ceremony because I was out of town for NCAA Regionals! Ahh.. rowing. That’s a million other stories in itself.. ha ha..
Anyway- bottom line is Obama is still scheduled to speak at the ceremony scheduled for May 17th, but there’s just some controversy surrounding it. But come on, what doesn’t have a little controversy around it? haha, life would just be too boring!!

Bye bye!!
