Senator Hank Jr.?

There are rumors flying around that Hank Williams Jr. might run for Senate in the next election. Well… this totally rules because it’s NOT a rumor! Yee HAW!

PoliticsDaily.com reported, “After consulting with Tennessee political veterans ex-Senate Majority Leader Bill Frist (R-TN) and Sen. Lamar Alexander (R-TN), the award-winning country singer famous for the hits “Family Tradition” and “Whiskey Bent and Hell Bound” is positioning himself for a Senate run in 2012, according to Townhall.com.”

I think this is awesome, while I’m sure a lot of people are dreading someone with such Southern roots to be in a senate seat. I don’t understand why people are wanting to steer away from the roots that build this country from the ground up. It’s okay to make fun of rednecks, but the military is MOST full of people from Southern states.. so they can fight your wars but they’re not “cool” enough for you? So lame.

Hank Jr. (sometimes referred to as Bocephus) plans to run for a Tennessee senate seat in 2012.  As I said, I’m sure many people are frowning upon it, but I mean, I’ve always thought of him as someone who was into politics so it’s not like this came up out of nowhere.  I actually think he’d do a pretty good job, he’d definitely have my vote! :)
