Despite having a compiled member list of guys from successful bands such as Strung Out, Pulley and Ten Foot Pole, I don’t recommend calling Implants a supergroup because their tunes speaks for itself. They don’t need to rely on their music resumes to gain fans in this industry, this classic, 90′s pop punk shit is awesome enough on its own! Managed by Strung Out’s very own resident drum man, Jordan Burns, I see great things in the future for these fellas.

Don’t be a lazy son of a bitch and forget to actually follow their links to check them out (below). Every person I’ve personally showed this band to has been pleasantly surprised. They aren’t playing what they think will do well, they’re playing the music they want to play so for the old schoolers, this will resonate with you and hopefully it brings out that nostalgic 90′s feeling like it does for me. PWV peeled people off the floor to take to the 5th annual Punk Rock Picnic in Irvine, CA last weekend. With a designated stage and booth to sell merch and flashes (you know, like when a girl lifts up her shirt), it was quite an eventual day! OH YEAH AND BANDS PLAYED!

Love love love love love love I fucking love this band. A lot of people I know wouldn’t pin Enter Shikari as a band I would normally be into, but something about them just sucks me right in.  They are a talented group of musicians and have a titillating way of mixing dubstep-like DJ noises with hardcore music. I’ve watched this band go from being practically an opening act in this country to now selling out headlining tours and having a number one album on the UK charts with their latest release, A Flash Flood of Colour.

I got a round THREE on the interview wheel with Enter Shikari, which rules because not only are they a great band, but SUPER nice dudes. I do believe this one is my favorite though! Check it out!

Brendan Kelly has had his dirty little fingers in the Lawrence Arms, Slapstick, The Falcon, and most recently his solo project, Brendan Kelly and the Wandering Birds. Since he’s a weenie and isn’t currently touring, I set up a Skype interview with the Chicago native. I wanted to look nice for him since he’s extremely good looking so I wore my banana suit.

WOW, DENISE LIKE BLACK FLAG TOO? HULK AND DENISE HAVE SO MUCH IN COMMON. HULK THINK BLACK FLAG DO AMAZING WORK WITH ROLLINS, BUT PREVIOUS INCARNATIONS OF GROUP CAST LONG SHADOW. BLACK FLAG NOTHING WITHOUT LIKES OF KEITH AND DEZ. BUT IN TERM OF PUNCHING CROWD IN FACE THEN NO, ROLLINS NO CAN BE BEAT IN THAT DEPARTMENT.

How do you feel about the Refused reunion?

HULK NOT HAVE ANY PROBLEM WITH REFUSED REUNITE. THEY WANT MAKE SOME MONEY AND TOUR OFF SOMETHING THEY CREATE, THAT ALL WELL AND GOOD. HULK JUST FIND IT RIDICULOUS AND HYPOCRITICAL THAT THEY END UP ON STAGE AT FESTIVAL LIKE COACHELLA.

On a similar note; how about the Good Riddance reunion shows?

HULK NOT REALLY CARE MUCH ABOUT GOOD RIDDANCE. HULK OWN FOR GOD AND COUNTRY AND SPLIT WITH IGNITE. THAT ONE PRETTY GOOD. THEY JUST ONE BAND IN LONG LIST OF BANDS THAT PROBABLY NOT NEED REUNION…UM, BUT IF DENISE LIKE GOOD RIDDANCE, THEN HULK ALWAYS LOVE THEM! THEY THE BEST, RIGHT?

Fugazi is technically on an indefinite hiatus. Do you think they will EVER reunite?

HULK WONDER THE SAME THING. IT FEEL LIKE HULK AND DENISE KNOW EACH OTHER FOREVER! IF FUGAZI NOT REUNITE AT THIS POINT, THEY PROBABLY NOT DO IT EVER. HULK COULD BE WRONG AND MAYBE THEY PLAY COACHELLA NEXT YEAR. IF THAT HAPPEN, MAYBE DENISE GO WITH HULK? HULK GONNA NEED A RIDE THOUGH.

If you haven’t heard of Lagwagon, you’re either not my friend or you’re not one of my cool friends. As one of Fat Wreck Chords‘ longest standing bands, they’ve held a place in my cold, dead heart since my middle school days. AWWW.

Lagwagon went on hiatus for a while but now they’re back and I’m fucking stoked on that shit. After going nearly my entire life without being able to catch them live, I’ve now seen them four times just this year. BOOYAH! Me happy. They just finished up a tour to support the re-release of their first five albums, which are available via boxset now!

Recently, I sat down with Joey Cape (again… view out first interview HERE) before the last show of their tour with the Cobra Skulls.  At the infamous El Rey Theatre in downtown Los Angeles, we talked about the reissues, the tour, his opinion on the Good Riddance reunion, and I presented him with a gift.  LOOK.

Fresh off a brand new signing with Bullet Tooth Records, I caught up with my old pals in I, Omega.  I’ve known these fools since they were the tongue-twisting The Syncope Threshold.  Now with a tweaked line up and new name, everything seems to be falling into place for these boys.

I caught up with Anthony while he was touring with other frontmen including Evan Weiss (Into It. Over It.), Matt Pryor (Get Up Kids), Ace Enders (Early November), Chris Conley (Saves the Day) and Dustin Kensrue (Thrice) on the Where’s the Band? Tour. I have to admit, this lineup was a trip and really brought back some old ass memories of my younger days. It was pretty rad.
