Thrice Goes On A Brizzity Break
DEAR GOD NO! Oh, they aren’t breaking up… never mind! Fresh off of an amazing new album, Major/Minor, it looks like our boys in Thrice are going to take a break from being a full time band. They are claiming this is NOT a break up… so no one will be walking around naked in the living room shamelessly promoting Diet Coke anytime soon! SHEW!
I don’t know about anyone else, but I didn’t see this one coming at all. I recently photographed the band at the Mayan in downtown Los Angeles, and while it was maybe the third or so time I’ve seen them live, it’s the first time I’ve shot them… and now that I’m re-watching some of the footage (to wallow in the sadness that is this hiatus), I feel like maybe they look sad. Am I crazy?
Either way, this is a shame. There are way too many bands out there that suck at this thing and this band has is fucking down. UGH. Let’s just hope that they figure out whatever they are seeking from this break and end up making more music, whether they continue to be a full-time band or not. I could live with less touring and whatnot, but they need to live on. I need it…. I want it.. ohhhhh yeahhhh.
