AHH! I cannot express with words how freakin excited I am for the new season of True Blood.
HBO has recently announced Season 2 of True Blood will premiere Sunday, June 14, 2009. I have to say that this show is pretty much 90% of the reason I even subscribe to HBO.

I bought the entire Charlaine Harris Sookie Stackhouse series, which came in a box set with 7 or 8 books (I can’t remember?). I thought I wanted to read the second book before the second season came out, but now I’ve totally changed my mind!

The book season 1 was based on
I know they say the books are always better than the movies and everything, but I’ve read the first book now that the first season is done, and it was pretty much exactly the same. Much of the dialogue was word for word, so I feel it would only ruin the new season for me! I will eventually read the rest of the books, but I think I will wait until after the season starts.

They are good books but, of course, HBO is making them way better. The novels don’t have as much raunch in them- which HBO is great at adding, ha ha, but it makes me for a more real feeling. I mean, we all know life isn’t exactly sugar coated like a “teen” novel so, HBO made sure to make it more adult-oriented.
Information about season 2 is leaking out all over the internet. The buzz around it is so huge, everyone just can’t wait until June!
Aceshowbiz.com reports that Evan Rachel Wood (broke out in Thirteen and once dated Marylin Manson) is to have a role in the new season.

Evan Rachel Wood
I can definitely give her props for her acting, so I’m sure she’ll be great in the series. I can also totally see her playing a vampire, so good casting choice!
The site also reported that if True Blood is renewed to a third season (if not, I’m killing someone!!), then Wood will be making appearances in it as well.
OKAY so, I seriously don’t know what it is about this show that makes me so crazy, because I can’t stand Twilight (okay I didn’t read the dumb “tween” books but I saw the movie and it was horrible), but I have always been into vampire movies and stuff… but I definitely didn’t expect to like it this much!
Definitely tune in, if you have HBO, Sunday, June 14 at 9 p.m. EST, and if not then I guess you’ll have to catch it out on DVD. I’ll be doing both!!
