0Better Than Ezra is Still a Band
Some of you might not remember this band because you’re too young, too stupid to remember anything or you never listened to the radio in high school. Better Than Ezra was a band that often played on the “rock” station in my hometown of bumfuck Kentucky, and I even saw them live a few times. They were definitely radio rock but friendlier on your ears than Pearl Jam and shit. To my surprise, I got a press release that they just signed to The End Records, and I’m like…. “They’re still a band??”
Since forming in 1988, Better Than Ezra has been selling out venues all around the country but have been laying low in the recent years. It was just announced today that the band has officially signed to The End Records, a Brooklyn-based record label with a roster featuring Anvil, Funeral for a Friend, Juliette Lewis, Danzig, Fatboy Slim, Fear and many more. The label will release their eighth full-length album which will feature Grammy nominated producer/mixer Tony Hoffer (Beck, Fitz and the Tantrums, M83, Silversun Pickups). More details on the release to come soon.
Frontman, Kevin Griffin, commented on the new signing:
“We couldn’t be more thrilled to team up with The End. With this upcoming album, it was really about exploring and reinventing a band that has been together for 25 years while staying true to who we are as artists.”
The band will hit the road this spring to support the new record.
