Brian Marquis Raises $10k for Muscular Dystrophy Foundation

BM-onward

Brian Marquis just concluded the A Bike & A Mic For a Cure Tour.  What the hell is that, you ask? Well, he rode over 1,225 miles on a bicycle (with his guitar) playing shows around the Northeast to raise money and awareness for Duchenne Muscular Dystrophy, on behalf of the volunteer group Spaghetti Arms.  On this venture, he was able to raise over $10,000 to be donated to support research, care, education and more for Duchenne Muscular Dystrophy, which is the most common fatal genetic disorder diagnosed in early childhood.

“I wanted to take touring to a new level personally, by mixing elements I love beyond music – athleticism, the outdoors, and cycling – and doing something bigger than myself and for a greater good,” shares Marquis. “Playing in small rooms and at house shows, I was able to bring awareness to the cause in an intimate way that I feel will have a more lasting impact than just an online campaign would have alone – and the cycling element gave people another reason to be engaged and get involved. It was the hardest tour I have ever done but also the most rewarding. I am in awe of what we were able to accomplish in just three short weeks and the support we received with online donations and at the shows was incredible.”

Marquis will be hitting the road this Fall with Onward, ETC and that tour will kick off November 6th in Texas. Check out the dates below.
