0Brothers of Brazil Sign to SideOneDummy
Brazilian duo Supla and Joäo are already huge stars in their homeland, but now they’re cracking into the states. The Brothers of Brazil just signed to SideOneDummy and a self-titled album is set to be released on the label July 26, 2011.
I was at the Cat Club on the Sunset Strip months and month ago, and these dudes were one of the random acts scheduled to play that evening. Â As they took the stage, Supla’s full white suit and bleached out, liberty spiked hair made me think, “This is either going to be really awesome or really, really bad.” THANK GOD IT RULED. Â As soon as they started playing, the crowd stopped paying [so much] attention to their cocktails and couldn’t help but get into them. Â I couldn’t take my eyes away from them as they strummed away, creating this unique, samba-esque music that reminded me of a punk-rock cruise ship or something. Â I’d jam to this shit.
Be sure to catch them on tour!!
