Alright, in this stage of the game I’m sure you’ve heard Cannibal Corpse, if you have not heard them, you most certainty have heard of them. They have been getting their music banned in most “developed” countries since 88, so I’m going to forego all the introduction and pleasantries. They are from Buffalo, New York, they play death metal, everything your shitty little metal band does has been done by this band, and with their 12th studio album Torture, they continue to show their brutality and longevity, so you might as well quit.

3.13.12

Tracklist:
1. Demented Aggression – 3:14
2. Sarcophagic Frenzy – 3:42
3. Scourge of Iron – 4:44
4. Encased in Concrete – 3:13
5. As Deep as the Knife Will Go – 3:25
6. Intestinal Crank – 3:54
7. Followed Home then Killed – 3:36
8. The Strangulation Chair – 4:09
9. Caged…Contorted – 3:53
10. Crucifier Avenged – 3:46
11. Rabid – 3:04
12. Torn Through – 3:11

The band has been doing the same thing since 1988 and with relatively minor changes in membership. That is something in of itself showing that Cannibal Corpse not only has the following, but also has the ability to stay relevant in the ever-changing musical scene.
Torture does not break any new boundaries let alone any of the boundaries set forth even by Cannibal Corpse. No it is not something new, but rather a continuation of the career that most bands wish they had. For a band to be able to continue writhing and playing music without drastically changing their sound and or views is an amazing accomplishment and Torture again proves that they will be around for more to come.

The sound is classic, fast pace, low furious vocals and shredding guitars. Hate Eternal’s Erik Rutan was tasked with producing this latest dose of metal goodness and does well to show off the skill of all members, able to isolate different instruments throughout its entirety. Mr. Rutan is no stranger when it comes to success with Cannibal Corpse as this is his third consecutive release with the guys. Don’t look for Torture to mimic 06’s Kill or 09’s Evisceration Plague, rather to kind of hug the guide lines laid down by its predecessors.
Songs with titles such as Sarcophagic Frenzy, and As Deep As the Knife Will Go, you can figure what you will be getting, which is exactly what you will hear, another signature Cannibal Corpse album. This presentation was released by Metal Blade Records (who else) March 13th. Get it.
