2Chad Gilbert Can Sang, Y’all
Here’s a little hardcore/pop-punk history for ya! Most any Shai Hulud fan can tell you that New Found Glory guitarist, Chad Gilbert, was one of the band’ early singers (when he was a wee 14 year-old lad). The band has since had a slew of singers sing on albums and tours, but if you ask me, their first record (with Chad on vocals) is still one of my favorite Shai Hulud records to date.
NOW FOR THE NEWS. Chad has returned to his hardcore roots and not only recorded Shai Hulud’s new record (yet to be released), but also sang vocals on the album. Guitarist Matt Fox stated that he is NOT re-joining the band but will be doing a few shows with the band.
I’m stoked on this news and I can’t wait to hear the new album. I even asked my humongous pal, Jaded Punk Hulk, what he though about the news.
He simply said:
“HULK TOTALLY EXCITED TO SEE HOW HARDCORE COMMUNITY RECEIVE CHAD’S CHOREOGRAPHED BULLSHIT POP PUNK STAGE JUMPS AND MIMING ‘2 C U!’…HULK IMAGINE NOT WELL!”
Oh, YOU.
To see photos of Shai Hulud from the Revelation Records 25th Ann. Show in Pomona, look HERE and stuff. The band has yet to release a title or date for the new album so you’ll just have to keep your stupid face on a computer screen.
