0Diamond Youth Debut New Song “Cannonball”
Time to get naked because Diamond Youth, the new side project from members of Trapped Under Ice, Terror and Down to Nothing, have just premiered a new track from their upcoming record Orange, set to drop January 22 (Topshelf Records). Wow that was a really long sentence. So anyway, the song is called Cannonball and Baeble Music is hosting the premiere. Check it out below.
“‘Cannonball’ carries a sound reminiscent of grunge’s glory days, but at the same time produces a fresh, poppy drive… The song’s sinister vibe possesses a certain Queens of The Stone Age poise.” – Baeble Music
This is the first track to be released off their highly anticipated EP, Orange, which is the follow up to their successful debut EP, Don’t Lose Your Cool.
Orange track list:
1. Cannonball
2. Separator
3. Come Down
4. Orange
5. Swinging From You
6. Lola
The upcoming record was recorded by Brian Mcternan (Circa Survive, Hot Water Music, The Movielife), in his Baltimore-based studio, Salad Days. Diamond Youth sounds nothing like the bands these boys hail from. Instead of the angst of hardcore breakdowns, DY is is sunny breath of fresh air you’ll wanna crank while riding down the PCH. Don’t know what the PCH is? Sucks for you.
Guitarist Sam Trapkin commented about the new track:
“‘Cannonball’ is our favorite song we’ve ever written. Actually, I don’t know if that’s true. But it’s definitely one of mine.”
