Good Riddance Announces New Album (FUCK YES)

Screen Shot 2015-02-14 at 9.35.23 AM

FINALLY! Of all the bands I’ve loved in my life, Good Riddance is up there in my top five at least, and I’ve been dying to hear a new album from them! It’s official that the band is releasing Peace in Our Time, their first album in nine years.

Frontman Russ Rankin commented on their break-up years ago:

“We didn’t want to be a band who overstayed our welcome. Everyone was becoming increasingly busy with other, non-music careers, families, etc.” and added, “We missed playing the songs.”

GR is more than just a rad band, they are actually quite modest about their contributions. The band has been donating proceeds from their album sales to various charities: Food Not Bombs, Santa Cruz AIDS Project, the Cabrillo College Music Department, Santa Cruz Homeless Shelter, and more.

The new album will be the best of Good Riddance squished into one LP.  It will definitely mark a triumphant return to music for these guys and I couldn’t be more stoked to hear the album. They are already booked to play Groezrock in Europe and plan for a hometown record release show in Santa Cruz, CA. I’m sure more tour dates will come! Stay tuned for more details.

You can check out some photos and video from their Alex’s Bar (Long Beach,CA) show a few months back if you missed it!
