Interview: Nuno of A Wilhelm Scream Talks About Being a Punk Rock Bowling Virgin
Recently, I had a chance to chat with A Wilhelm Scream frontman Nuno Pereira about their upcoming Punk Rock Bowling appearance. Hear who he is excited to see and what kind of hot sauce you can bring him if you feel so inclined. See y’all in Vegas!

PWV: If I’m not mistaken, this will be AWS’s first Punk Rock Bowling! Have you always wanted to play this festival?
N: We’ve always looked at PRB as a gathering we would love to attend. The sheer amount of debauchery and awkward mornings are enough to draw us in never mind all the amazing bands!
PWV: Have you ever been to PRB?
N: Nope, all of us in the AWS camp are PRB virgins. Be gentle.
PWV: Of the three headliners [Rancid, Refused, Dropkick Murphys], who are you most excited to see?
N: That’s really not fair.. I LOVE all those bands! I’ve seen The Refused, about 2 years ago, and I was just whipping snowballs at Ken Casey’s house so I guess that leaves Rancid as my go-to out of the headliners. If I still had hair it would be in liberty spikes. I’m also looking forward to some of the sideshows as well of course. Cant miss out on Pears or Get Dead, that would be foolish.
PWV: Besides the headliners, who are you most excited to watch?
N: [See answer above] PEARS and Get Dead, also my main man Pat Melzard and the Unseen!
PWV: What will you be doing during PRB weekend when you’re not at the festival?
N: Recovering from alcohol poisoning. Making sure I still have a fiance. Losing money. Making friends. Drinking smartwater and vodka.
PWV: What does the band have coming up before Memorial Day weekend?
N: A Wilhelm Scream will be out doing three weeks of touring in the U.S. with Pennywise and the juggernaut known as Teenage Bottle Rocket!
PWV: Have you ever done anything regrettable in Vegas? Do you plan on doing some regrettable things PRB weekend?
N: I refuse to answer this question on the grounds that I may incriminate myself. NEXT QUESTION!
PWV: I need to know what your favorite hot sauce is, please.
N: Oh shit! good question! My favorite hot sauce is the Nick Dompierre habanero sauce at No Problemo Taqueria. My second fav is probably Dexters Gringo Bandito. Honorable mention to Tapatio and Schiracha.
PWV: My final question: Are you still the champagne of bands? Do you know sexy?
N: Yes we are, and you know I do! Keeping it real as fuck whilst providing some eye candy for the people of the world…that’s our mission. hahahahah. You’re ridiculous.
