Is Porno For Pyros Coming Back?
In a recent Radio.com interview, Jane’s Addiction frontman Perry Farrell appeared to be busier than ever. While the band is approaching their 25th anniversary, the singer is showing no signs of slowing down. Jane’s Addiciton is currently co-headlining the Uproar Festival. Farrell commented:
“I’m about to do it again! I have some projects coming up in 2014, I feel excited about them… I have some goodies in my bag that when people experience them, they’re going to have that same feeling where they’re just saying ‘Wow. This is awesome, I’m gonna tell my friends.’ There’s gonna be a new scene created in 2014.”
Of the “projects” mentioned, a Porno For Pyros reunion is in the midst. Also in PFP is Jane’s Addiction drummer, Stephen Perkins and guitarist Peter DiStefano. Farrell is also super into DJ-electro shit, and has a side project with his wife, Etty.
Regarding his most well-known band [Jane’s Addiction] hitting the 25 year mark and being eligible for the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame, Farrell said:
“It would be an honor if they wanted us, but if they don’t want us, I’m still very proud of the work that we have accomplished. And I’m not going to put too much emotion into it, because God forbid that they decide that we’re not worth voting for. My kids are going to new schools now. To try to get them in we went and looked at the school, and we had to write letters, and as a matter of fact, I’ve gone so far as to offer to teach a master course in voice and the music industry. So I want my son to get to this particular school, but even if he doesn’t (get accepted), I still love my son and know that he is so very valuable. But (being inducted) would be wonderful.” He adds, “We are going to be a piece of sidewalk in Hollywood. We’re getting a star on the Hollywood Walk Of Fame!”
