0Why Jeff Reed Should Come Back To The NFL
There are few football players that I have liked as much as I like Jeff Reed, a kicker most known from his time with the Pittsburgh Steelers. The Steelers released him back in 2010 and he was a free agent for a while after, but is not currently on a team. Now that football season is upon us, Jeff has been heavy on my mind. Despite his current situation, I believe he should come back to the NFL and here are just a few reasons why.
He keeps things exciting. You never know how many hickeys he will have on his neck or if he was arrested the previous night and can’t play. I love a man that keeps me on my toes!
His parents were both athletes. Let the man play ball! His mom and dad were both collegiate athletes at Wichita State. Playing sports is in his blood and Jeff shouldn’t be denied anymore!
He likes to drink but he also likes to be involved in charities. Jeff does charity work for Kicks For Kids. While he was active, $300 was donated for every field goal he makes. Well not that he is not an active player, NO MORE DONATIONS. Think about the kids.
We have the same socks. I have these same socks. I don’t wear them often, but I did wear them when I dressed up as Troy Polamalu for Halloween a few years ago. My costume was clearly not accurate because Troy does not wear these socks, Jeff does. I fucked up but we can’t blame Jeff for this. Bring him back!
I want to be able to draft him on my fantasy football team. I do not like not being able to choose Jeff for my fantasy roster and this has to end.
He pays his fines. Back in 2009, Jeff was arrested when he lost a fight with a paper towel dispenser in the men’s bathroom at a Sheetz convenience store. He fessed up and was fined $543.50. He is not bitter about the incident and continues to get along just fine with other paper towel holders.
He doesn’t want the CFL and we should respect that. In an NBC Sports article, Jeff said “I looked into the CFL and the Arena League. It’s just a lot of work for little pay, and it sounds kind of shallow, but when you’ve played for the most elite level of football and you think you can still do it, why wouldn’t you?” I support you, Jeffy-poo.
He was so happy about his 2009 victory over the Browns, he got really hammered and still apologized. Jeff was arrested for public intoxication and disorderly conduct on October 18, 2009 literally mere hours after the Steelers defeated the shitty Cleveland Browns. He is so nice that he even apologized to his team for the incident. Aww.
He went 2-for-2 on field goals and 3-for-3 on PATs in the Super Bowl. In the 2009 Super Bowl, the Steelers won 27-23 against the Arizona Cardinals. We can go ahead and thank Mr. Reed for pulling his weight. THANK YOU.
My mom needs to take me seriously and I think him going back to the NFL will do this. I just want to convince him that he can do it and he can’t give up. Exhibit A:
So there you have it. There are plenty of reasons for this man to come back to the NFL so COME ON, JEFF! DO IT FOR ME.
