0This Legend (Ex-Yellowcard) Signs to Cyber Tracks
Two former Yellowcard members, Longineu Parsons III and Ben Harper, have recently reunited to form a new project called This Legend. The band has signed to Cyber Tracks, a Los Angeles based label owned by NOFX’s El Hefe and his wife, Jen Abeyta. The band’s debut record will be produced by Sam Pura (The Story So Far, State Champs) and is set to drop this October.
Longinue said this about forming the band:
“After being in Yellowcard for 18 years, this will definitely be a new experience for me. The last 18 years with Yellowcard has played a big role in who I am today. I am excited to begin this new adventure with my best friend Ben Harper and re-unite in a new musical endeavor together. I’m stoked to embark on this journey with one of my inspirations, El Hefe of NOFX, and I feel This Legend is a perfect fit for the Cyber Tracks family. Jen and Hefe have been very supportive throughout my new transition and I feel we’ve created a solid team. I can’t wait to start writing again. Thank you to my fans for sticking by my side throughout all of this. See you on the road very soon!”
LP departed from Yellowcard in March and almost immediately partnered with Harper to form This Legend. They partnered with El Hefe to gain some advice and was then introduced to Castillo, whom El Hefe and Jen had taken under their wing for quite some time. After locking in a vocalist, guitar player and bassist, they needed a backing vocalist and enlisted long-time friend, Neufeld.
