1Man Sues “Bruno” for $110 Million
“A Palestinian shopkeeper and father portrayed as a terrorist in the movie ‘Bruno’ is suing film star Sacha Baron Cohen, David Letterman and others for libel and slander.”
Popeater.com reports that Ayman Abu Aita is suing Baron Cohen for portraying him as a terrorist in his film Bruno.
“According to the lawsuit, however, the interview with Abu Aita took place at a hotel chosen by Baron Cohen and located in a part of the West Bank that was under Israeli military control. Film distributor NBC Universal and director Larry Charles are also named in the lawsuit.”
Personally, they can’t be surprised that something like this is happening. Any time you do something as controversial as that movie, you have to expect someone to react negatively enough to try to do something about it. I’m not really siding with either or at this point because I haven’t seen the movie. Maybe one day I’ll see it and then I can decide… =/ But really, who cares? Ha. Just thought it was worth mentioning because well, $110 million is QUITE a large chunk of money, so I am curious as to how this one turns out!
