0Mastodon Re-Issuing All Reprise Records Titles on Vinyl
Today, Mastodon has announced they will be re-issuing all of their albums released via Reprise Records on colored vinyl. The first of the bunch is 2006’s Blood Mountain, which will be on a mix of solid yellow and transparent green vinyl to be released March 3rd. This record once placed number 9 on Rolling Stone’s Top 50 Albums of 2007.
The next record will be 2009’s Crack the Skye which will drop June 2nd on baby blue vinyl. This album had Rolling Stone calling them “the greatest metal band of their generation – no one else comes close,” and Revolver said it was the work of “a band at the peak of its musical and conceptual powers.”
August 4th will mark the next release which will be 2011’s The Hunter on a mix of solid white and solid red vinyl. This was the band’s first Top 10 album and had two Grammy nominated tracks, “Curl of the Burl,” and “Dry Bone Valley.”
Once More ‘Round the Sun (2014) will be released October 5th on a mix of transparent green and solid white vinyl. This was Mastodon’s highest charting record, debuting No. 6 debut on Billboard’s Top 200.
Finally on December 8th, the band will release a limited edition box set containing ALL of these titles on vinyl. This is going to be limited to 500 and there are more details to come! Additionally, as an added bonus they are releasing a Limited Edition 12″ vinyl picture disc in celebration of Record Store Day on April 18th.
