MTV Headbangers Ball alumni, Motionless in White has a pretty heavy buzz for being a fairly new group.  Their debut full-length, Creatures, coming out on Fearless Records) is highly anticipated by scene kids everywhere, and maybe even breaking into the metal world a bit, too.  This sextet from Pennsylvania has toured with names like Bleeding Through and In This Moment, and that was when they had only released their EP, When Love Met Destruction. This band must have something different about them to stand out among the gobs of other screamo, eyeliner, “which side do YOU part your hair on..” bands, right? 🙂

Immaculate Misconception is a good choice for an album starter; it’s got the quick, quiet opener, leading right into heavy, hardcore breakdowns and melodic melodies mixed with throaty, metal screams. Â Pretty much sums up the band and shows you what they’re about. Â They don’t mess around with a two minute instrumental that may or may not lead into a headbanger’s haven; they get straight to the point.
The album continues with a heavy theme, giving a nice mix of clean vocals. Â I have to say that I hit a lull with Abigail, feeling like the clean vocals weren’t hitting quite like they should. Â But the heaviness didn’t wane.. and let’s be real people… I like it hard.
They aren’t the first to do it, but at least they are good at it. Â Creatures is steady and solid, and definitely a great first full-length to have as a band. Â It shows the bands musical abilities, which is something you can’t say for every band churning out albums now a days. Â Motionless in White is already a fan favorite, and I think Creatures will only solidify their spot in this ever growing scene.
The album is available everywhere 10.12.10, so don’t miss out on your copy! Â You can also catch Motionless in White on tour with A Skylit Drive in November and December, and out on tour with Black Veil Brides now!
