0MXPX Drummer Retires
A mere two days after their 18 year anniversary, MxPx has announced the retirement of their drummer, Yuri Ruley. 2.5 million sold records are enough to prove this pop-punk trio has definitely made a name for themselves in the two decades they’ve been a band.
MxPx will continue to play with Chris Wilson (The Summer Obsession) on drums.
“The current economy crisis has affected everyone in some way. For us as a mid-tier band that relies on consistent touring as a steady source of income, we’ve been affected drastically. Touring costs have sky-rocketed and companies have limited their marketing dollars, resulting in most bands being barely able to cover current road costs,” says guitarist, Tom Wisniewski.
July 18th, the band will be performing in Las Vegas, NV as a farewell, where they will be performing their most popular album, Life in General, in it’s entirety.
“This will be a night to celebrate both the band and our fans who have supported us and will continue to support us now and in the future,” says vocalist, Mike Herrera.
In early 2011, they will also embark on a new tour to Australia.  This will feature the same line-up from their very first tour to Japan and Malaysia (Mike Herrera, Kris Roe and Chris Wilson).  MxPx’s side project, Arthur, is also planning to be released later this year.
BYE, BYE YURI!!!
