My Two Favorite Sell Outs!
We all have those bands that we love that eventually give in to “the man” and do what we like to call… selling out. It happens to the best of them.. haha, well okay not ALL of the best, but you know what I mean. I just happen to be going to a concert today (Monday, June 22, 2009) of TWO of my favorite sell out bands! 🙂 Rancid and Rise Against! haha, and I say that with much love… don’t worry.
Rancid
There are some bands you love that seem to be able to do no wrong. I mean… don’t get me wrong, I could tell you ten things wrong with Rise Against’s new album, but at the end of the day I will still listen to it and still let them stay on my iPod.
Rise Against
Rancid has definitely been around the block a few times. From Operation Ivy to Rancid.. charging $30 for a concert ticket and playing on The Tonight Show, haha, they are NOT the same boys they used to be! 🙂 Not always a bad thing, but just strange to think of Rancid playing their new single on The Tonight Show. I mean.. this is a show that has like, Coldplay and bands like that on it so I just wouldn’t put Rancid in that slot of bands to perform.

Anywho- so I haven’t seen either band live in a while, especially Rancid. I think the last time I saw them live was 2001. Rise Against, however, I have seen in the recent years. I haven’t seen them live since their latest album came out. Both bands will be playing songs from their new records I’m sure, and both are decent live bands. The opener, The Riverboat Gamblers, are even a great band so I’m sure it will be a fantastic show.
