NOISEY Launches New Series: Under the Influence
Vice’s music site, Noisey, just revealed the first episode of a new series called Under the Influence. It’s a three-part special exploring the most important music scenes of our time. The first episode focuses on the roots of New York hardcore. Check it out below.
Narrated by Tim Armstrong, you’ve got 26 minutes of discussing the economic depression of New York City in the late ’70s and early ’80s and punk legends like Vinnie Stigma of Agnostic Front, John Joseph of Cro-Mags, and Walter Schreifels talking about hardcore’s genesis with candor alongside rare footage from the early days of the genre.
