Anyone Remember Popples?

When I was younger, I had a purple popple that was connect to me. Well.. not literally but you know what I mean. Every kid goes through phases of having to have a toy with them at all times. My first family photo ever, I was actually holding the damn popple because I was burst into tears without it. I think I was like two or something.

Anyway- so I just got curious one day like “whatever happened to popples??” Seems like toys are huge and then just disappear off the planet. In my online research effort to find out what’s going on with them now, I actually found some that were made in 2007:

2007 Popples

2007 Popples

These definitely look different than the ones I had when I was a kid (the originals). They were extremely popular in the 80’s, and really.. it’s hard to see why? Ha ha, I mean they like folded into themselves with a weird kangaroo-like pouch in the front. What’s so great about that?

Whatever it was, it sure sparked kids’ interests, myself included. But that’s one of the great things about being a kid; being easily amused. It’s like when you get a child something for Christmas, and all they want to do is play with the box it came in or the paper it was wrapped with (you ALL know what I’m talking about!). Ha.. anyway.. I just was randomly thinking about them the other day and thought I’d see if they still were made! It’s pretty crazy that they still do I guess. They’ve changed in appearance but aren’t really “advanced” or anything, which I kind of like. Wonder if they still sell at all..? Oh well! Good to know they haven’t died out!! 🙂
