0PUP to Release Debut Album
Canadian four-piece band PUP has just announced pre-orders for their debut album to drop via SideOneDummy Records April 8th. The album art (above) looks like a photograph but it’s actually a charcoal drawing by Jason Bartell of Fang Island.
PUP was named one of Stereogum’s Bands To Watch for 2014, so don’t sleep on these guys! The band recently signed to SideOneDummy and have had a great year so far. They will be playing SXSW and then head to the UK in May for Europe’s The Great Escape (a notable music festival). PUP is excited to release their self-titled debut album
You can stream the album opener, Guilt Trip, now on Spin. Frontman Stefan Babcock commented:
“We wanted to make an album that captured what we do live. We recorded mostly live off the floor and there are a lot of mistakes on the album but they’re real and awesome, and it sounds like us, playing our songs. That’s all I’ve ever wanted out of a punk rock record.”
SideOneDummy is definitely a great label so if they signed them, they’ve gotta at least be worth checking out. Peep their links below to learn more.
