REFUSED to Release The Malignant Fire EP Next Month
REFUSED will be releasing their new EP, The Malignant Fire, November 20, 2020, via Spinefarm Records. This is the band’s first album since their full-length release, War Music, last year (Oct 2019). The band has also just released a music video for the track Born on the Outs, which you can view on YouTube or below.
The EP consists of four new songs and one album track. They even cover EDM legends, Swedish House Mafia’s hit, Greyhound. Seems out of context but Refused crafted lyrics for the normally instrumental track.
“Kris [Steen, guitars] has talked about the riff in the Swedish House Mafia song ‘Greyhound’ forever, so we decided to give it our own spin,” singer Dennis Lyxzén says. “[Drummer] David [Sandström] and I added some lyrics for this version, which we’ve called ‘Born On The Outs.’ Make no mistake though; this is very much ‘Greyhound.’ But with added lyrics about people who refused to take a side in the ongoing fight against fascism. So, you know, another ordinary Refused song.”
