@DarylBk
Due to the massive amount of shitty bands floating in and around cyberspace a group of young men created a place to help other like minded people come together and share their woes. The group held to the 12 step format that other self help groups like AA and NA pioneered. The name of this intrepid group? The Sick of Hearing Incredibly Terrible Tunes Youth Movement. Or The S.H.I.T.T.Y. Movement. Recently, a meeting of the
minds took place, let’s listen in…..
Daryl BK: Hi, I’m Daryl BK, and I’m sick of shitty music.
Daryl BK: I’ve noticed that there are some new faces in here today. Would you care to
introduce yourselves?
Retox: Hi, we are Retox, and we are sick of shitty music too, but we’re not armchair
revolutionaries we are doing something about it.
Daryl BK: What are you doing about it?
Retox: Well we recorded this little album, and we are about to release it to the world on The Shitty Movement proceeds to listen to the album, and bands that never had the right to sign a multi album record deal instantly shit themselves inside out and were banished from the planet. Everyone lived happily ever after.
Track Listing:
1. The World Is Ending And It’s About Time
2. Thirty Cents Shy Of A Quarter
3. A Bastard On Father’s Day
4. A Funeral On Christmas Sunday
5. Stick A Fork In It
6. Cement Sucking
7. Boredom Is Counter-revolutionary
8. Ten Pounds Of Shit In A Five Pound Bag
9. A Captive Audience
10. Sorry We Are Just Not Compatible
11. Piss Elegant
If this were only true, I think I would be a happier person. But in all reality, it has been a New York minute since a band like Retox has come into the scene and shook things up for the better. Retox employs members whose resumes include The Locust, Cattle Decapitation, Head Wound City, Holy Molar, All Leather, Some Girls, Swing Kids and the Crimson Curse, so clearly failure was not an option.
Formed in 2010, Retox played a few shows and released an EP that was streamed for free on their website. Reception has been great and let me tell you, the wait for their full length Ugly Animals is well worth it.
