0Riot Fest Announces Toronto Lineup
One of the festivals that I have yet to be able to go to but I’m DYING to make it to one day… Riot Fest! The Toronto lineup has just been announced and along with 50 bands, there will be carnival attractions, lots of food and a brand new venue. The country isn’t forgetting about their own bands: City and Colour, Metric, Billy Talent, Death From Above 1979, Tokyo Police Club and The New Pornographers. The two-day festival will go down September 6th and 7th at Downsview Park. Tickets go on sale May 1oth!
Riot Fest housed the exciting reunion of Minneapolis punk band The Replacements, whom reunited to play the event after over two decades away just last year. Festival organizer and founder, Michael Petryshyn, commented:
“Ever since I was a young kid living in Buffalo, Ontario was a second home to me where I caught my musical bearings and was turned on to everything from The Clash to the Sex Pistols to The Viletones and Diodes. Like I tell everyone, Toronto is one of the greatest cities in the world, from its food to culture, but most importantly, to me, the Toronto bands who’ve created music that matters.”
