Hailing from Romford, UK near London, Russell and The Wolf Choir have recently dropped an EP which is listened to sounds more of an American sound rather than English, but I like that! The EP throws a ton of aspects in such as indie, country, rock and early 90’s emo and is released on a small label called Hearts and Stars.
As debut EP’s go, the song writing from the main man, Russell Evans is maturity and well seasoned giving off an impression that these guys are seasoned veterans to releasing records. You get everything from pedal steel guitars given the Southern US charm all the way through to riffs that I personally draw links Mineral/The Gloria Records style 90’s emo. Either way the record is not heavy, its peaceful with a bittersweet tempo which flows well through the 5 tracks and ends on a symphonic eight minute plus title track.
From the outset I wasn’t so sure but as I listened to this more and more at my desk job it has grown on me quite a lot and now I am a fan!
