Silence The Feedback (often referred to as STF) hails from Rockland Count, New York and his been around since 2002. The band, who says they do not subscribe to any specific genre, has experienced many changes to their lineup since they have been together, more specifically its drummers. It does not appear they have had great success in touring… it doesn’t seem like have made it out on NY or NJ or have sequestered any following of great size. Surprisingly, they seem to recognize negative feedback given regarding their music as they even make mention to it on their homepage.

Upon starting my first review of an artist for PWV, I tried to charge it with an open mind, as all good people should when it comes to new music. Any music lover/listener should appreciate ALL artists and the music they put down in hopes of entertaining you.
I sat down, opened the files and imported them into iTunes and took a good, hard listen through all media sources I had available to me in order to not miss anything. In my best efforts, I could not come to an end which allowed me to say too much positive, or too much at all, about what I heard from Silence the Feedback (STF).
STF’s myspace page says they are a progressive, hard rock, metal, hardcore and alternative band. Although, I do not ever feel so compelled to categorize anything in any genre but I certainly didn’t feel that complicated of style(s) from this band. Sounding like a more rocky/poppy top 40 band from the mid 90’s (I even thought it was Jon Jovi on vocals for a second) STF is simple, predictable and down-right boring. There was a cool riff or two but it was so familiar, like it has all been done before … unoriginal or just very unsatisfying.
Perhaps their name says all there is to say on how they feel toward “feedback” or “F”. There just isn’t much to say about them as I certainly was not, and don’t think anyone will be, moved or overcome with emotion upon the first, second, or even third listen too.
All I really felt was an urge to stand up and do the “Molly Ringwald” and I never thought she was even remotely cute either.
