Silverstein Covers NOFX, Descendents & More
While their own music isn’t exactly punk, Hopeless Records’ newbies (but music industry vets) Silverstein have very punk inspired release coming up. To pay tribute so some of their favorite punk acts, the band is releasing a record called Short Songs that will feature both covers and originals of songs under 90 seconds long.
The band explains the concept (orig. on PunkNews.org):
“There will still be a ballad, a breakdown, and some singalongs, all amidst these quick songs. The idea is to give the listeners a mini-Silverstein album and take them through all of the peaks and valleys they could expect from any of our original albums.”

Some of the artists set to be covered on the album are Green Day, NOFX, Descendents, Gob, Dead Kennedys and Orchid. It’s set to release in January 2012 (although the trailer does say Fall… I don’t really have an explanation, SORRY BUNGHOLES).
