0Story of the Year *interview w/ Ryan*
I have to admit that I’m rarely a huge fan of mainstream bands, but I can’t deny the talent and power behind Epitaph’s Story of the Year. Ever since their first full length, Page Avenue, debuted in 2003, I’ve been hooked. With hits like “Until The Day I Die” and “Anthem of our Dying Day” it looks like seven years of hard work paid off for this five-some.
I will admit that I think their next album, In The Wake of Determination was better than their first, but my taste tends to be a little harder, so I’m sure they had a lot of fans that prefer their earlier work. Either way, they are AMAZING live. I can’t even describe it, you just have to go see them!! 🙂
If you’d like to view my entire album from their 11.22.2009 show in Louisville, KY at Headliner’s Music Hall (on tour with The Devil Wears Prada and Haste the Day) feel free to check out my photobucket album:

They put on one hell of a live show if you ever have the chance to see them. I’ve probably seen them six or seven times and they never let me down! 🙂
(I don’t know why I look like a giant in this photo… ha ha, Ryan is really a normal sized dude, and I’monly 5’5″ !! Stupid camera!!)
Be sure to check out my interview with Story of the Year’s, Ryan Phillips (guitar).
I love these boys! They’re entertaining, talented and seem like great guys. I was lucky enough to catch some awesome live footage as well:
They are really fun to photograph, too. Bands that jump around and have a lot of movement in their stage show definitely give the best photos! I can’t say enough good things these guys, you just have to check them out.
