0Stream Pennywise’s New Record, “Yesterdays”
While this is technically a new record for Pennywise, the songs on it are not actually new. This is the band’s 11th album and contains tracks that were mostly written by the late bassist, Jason Thirsk, back in the 80’s. These tracks have been lying around for nearly 25 years. Current bassist, Randy Bradbury, commented:
“Jason was a truly gifted person,” the band’s current bassist, Randy Bradbury, told Radio.com over email. “The songs he wrote, that we included on Yesterdays, really show the raw talent Jason had for melody and lyrical expression…We always say Jason is still with us in spirit. I hope he would be proud of our efforts to capture the true essence of how these songs should be presented.”
Yesterdays is set to release next month. The album stays true to the band’s political messages and even includes a love song that Thirsk had written for his then girlfriend. The video above is part of a playlist that has every track on Yesterdays. You can keep up with up with the latest Pennywise news and updates on the band’s official site.
