The song features the now NOFX-retired El Hefe and explores “the daily struggles that drive people to their limits. It touches on feelings of depression, loneliness, and the desire for an end. This song serves as a reminder to pay attention to those who are feeling low and provide them with hope that things will ultimately get better,” explains vocalist Ken Conte. They quickly gained a massive following after their demo tracks leaked online, capturing worldwide attention and radio play. Their song “Once Was I” remains a staple on SiriusXM Faction Punk. Their debut album, From Chaos To Order, was hailed as one of 2013’s Top 10 Punk Rock Releases and continues to attract new fans today. Known for their electrifying live performances, IMPLANTS has shared the stage with punk legends such as Good Riddance, NOFX, Pulley, and Strung Out.

IMPLANTS is Ken Conte (vocals), Rob Ramos (guitar, backing vocals), Chris Del Rio (bass), and Chris Dalley (drums).

***

The post IMPLANTS Debuts New Video feat. Life Passes
02. Blinded
03. Through the Window
04. Once Was I
05. El Ron

The record starts with Life Passes, a track I am already familiar with from seeing them play it live. It’s a great melodic track with quick drums and a catchy chorus. This band is really a breath of fresh air. They don’t give a fuck about what everyone else is doing musically, they give a fuck about what THEY are doing. This song is a great representation of the band’s sound. Blinded follows and from the get-go has a different sound than the first track. It’s another song I’ve heard them play live and it makes me realize how great this band is live, because the recorded tracks don’t sound that different at all! This one is nice and fast but still has those melodic choruses that make it so easy to listen to. This album sounds like it came out in 1998 and that’s why I love it so much already.

I love the intro to Through the Window. This band is really doing something new with something old. They are making brand new pop-punk melodic tunes combining all the memebers’ previous band’s sounds into one new record. This track is my favorite of the three so far. It’s so damn catchy!!!

Once Was I is a song you’ll sing along to before finishing the first listen. It’s a little slower than their other tracks, but it’s so smooth and catchy. Ken has such a great voice, and it’s not just on the record. Catch an Implants show and you’ll see that they aren’t studio musicians, these dudes can actually play their instruments and Ken sounds superb live. This track is clean and I like it.

Mutualism has such a rad intro. I think listeners will really enjoy the variety this band brings to the table. This track more than the others reminds me a lot of a Strung Out song. As I mentioned, it’s like the guys combined every aspect of their respective bands (Strung Out, Pulley, Ten Foot Pole, Death by Stereo, etc…) and smushed it into one band. The end of this song is just fucking great. The drums with the overlapped vocals just sounds so cool.

Bleed Within is a classic 90’s pop punk song. It’s got lyrics I’m sure we can all relate too, and it’s also a great live jam! The track is one of their slower tunes, but still sticking with their slick melodies and catchy choruses. It’s a nice middle track to settle you into the record. It also has a sweet guitar solo, you just gotta take a listen for yourself!

If you’re familiar with my reviews you know I eventually stop going track-by-track because I know people have the attention span of a wet log (especially when it comes to reading), so let’s just get through this so you can go buy the damn record already!

Stuck Around is a track that I’m not sure if I heard them play live or not. Most of the other tracks, I was already familiar with from hearing live multiple times, but this one seems all new to me and I really dig it. It’s fast, which I love, and never lulls or makes me bored. I love the upbeat sound this band brings to the table. I really think fans will be stoked on this record. Puppet Regime is another fast song, which is the side of this band I love. Chris Dalley is a great drummer and I think he excels most on tracks like this.

Skipping to the final track on the record, El Ron makes you think you’re in church with the intro… then it’s like JUST KIDDING Y’ALL. I’ve heard this song live a bunch and it was always one of my favorites. The drums in this track are killer and it’s another song straight outta the fuckin 90’s. Not one song on this album bummed me out, they are all bangers and I think for people like me that love that 90’s Fat Wreck Chords sound, it’s just a sigh of relief that there’s a band out there still wanting to make music like this.

You can buy the record now from many sources including their label, Cyber Tracks, which is founded by NOFX guitarist El Hefe and his wife, Jennifer. Do yourself a favor and pick it up and try to catch them on tour if they make it to a city near you.

Cyber Tracks

Facebook

Twitter

The post Implants “From Chaos To Order” Album Review (punk) appeared first on PunkWorldViews.com | Punk/Metal/Hardcore Coverage.

Implants Announce Debut Album

Denise Borders

Newzz

10 foot pole

2013

album

announce

band

Chaos to Order

cyber tracks

debut

el hefe

Eric Stenman

From Chaos to Order

implants

Jen Abeyta

new

pop punk

pulley

punk

punk world views

punkworldviews

record label

release date

rob ramos

Ryan Greene

strung out

super group

super groups

Melodic pop-punk group Implants just announced their debut album From Chaos to Order will be drop May 7 via Cyber Tracks (a new label owned by NOFX’s El Hefe and his wife). The Los Angeles based band is comprised of members of Strung Out, Pulley, Ten Foot Pole and ex-Death by Stereo and Voodoo Glowskulls. These dudes put on a great live show and you can witness this second-hand in a video I shot at the Roxy:

Stellar mate Ryan Greene (NOFX, Megadeth) mixed the record and Eric Stenman (Thrice, Senses Fail) produced that shit. I’ve been backing this group since their 2011 debut so I am stoked on this news! The band featured members of Strung Out, Pulley, Ten Foot Pole and The Tank and ex-members of Death by Stereo and Voodoo Glowskulls. Implants have opened up for acts such as Good Riddance, The Vandals, Pulley and Strung Out among others.

Eric Stenman (Saves The Day, Thrice) engineered their long awaited debut record, which was produced by Implants and mixed by Ryan Greene (Bad Religion, Megadeth). It’s set for a Spring 2013 release via Cyber Tracks.

NOFX guitarist El Hefe and his wife, Jen Abeyta launched Cyber Tracks in 2012 with a full-length release from LA punk band, Margate. They are saying to expect more signings and releases in 2013.

Implants drummer Chris Dalley says:

“To me personally, they have so much knowledge in the music business, and they really believe in our band. It was an easy win-win decision for us.”

Check out my YouTube page for tons more Implants live footage!

www.cyber-tracks.com

www.facebook.com/ImplantsBand

Implants is:
Ken Conte (ex-The Tank, Brown Lobster Tank) – Lead Vocals
Jim Blowers (Pulley) – Guitar/Vocals
Rob Ramos (Strung Out) – Guitar/Vocals
Chris Del Rio (Ten Foot Pole) – Bass/Vocals
Chris Dalley (Ten Foot Pole)- Drums

The post Cyber Tracks Signs Implants! appeared first on PunkWorldViews.com | Punk/Metal/Hardcore Coverage.
