0The 2015 Descendents Holiday Sweater is Here (R.I.P. Crew Necks)
Every year, lots of little shithead punks await the announcement of the new Descendents holiday sweater. I most definitely used to be one of those shitheads. I mean, I still sort of am, in that I want to see it but I don’t purchase them anymore since they switched from the $24 crew necks to the $60 knit sweaters. This new trend started last year, and I actually ordered it. After it was all said and done, I want to say I spent around $70 to get that sweater to my door. The size small I ordered fit me more like a L/XL. I immediately sent it back and I was bummed that my tradition of ordering the new one every year was coming to an abrupt end. Something else I noticed was that in the previous [crew neck] years, they would almost always sell out. Now this year, they’re doing a special if you order the 2015 AND 2014 version, you get 10% off. Needless to say, I guess they didn’t sell out of last year’s sweaters.
You can order the sweater now via Kings Road Merch. You can peep the photo below that I’ve been posting every year to show the OG versions of the holiday sweater when they were affordable crew necks.
I still wear them and probably always will each holiday. The only other “holiday” sweater I’ve purchased that’s music/band related was a black one, similar crew neck style, from 2013’s Nardcore Bowling. They were $20 and at that time, the whole “ugly holiday sweater” crap wasn’t so overdone like it is now with bands. Everyyyyyyyyy band has a holiday sweater of some sort. Despite the new trend, I will always wear these, and I will also make my boyfriend wear them because I like to match. OKAY, HAPPY HOLIDAYS!
