0The Last Reveals Details for 7th Album
End Sound Records will be releasing the 7th full-length album from LA punk’s, The Last. The first track from the record, I Know, is available for stream now on PunkNews. The new record is entitled Danger and will drop November 5th. It’s been 17 years since the band has released new music and considering bands like The Bangles and Circle Jerks list the group as influence, it’s easy to say that fans are looking for to this one.
Punk icon Keith Morris [Black Flag, OFF!, Circle Jerks, FLAG] commented:
“Where I grew up, all of the music around us was Top 40. Most of it was pretty bland and boring, and there was no bright spot-with the exception of The Last.”
Producer and now band member, Bill Stevenson [Descendents, ALL, Black Flag, FLAG] said:
“The Last are how you get from the Kinks to the Descendents. There is no other way.” Milo Aukerman [Descendents] adds, “I just loved The Last. I thought they were so great. I just wore out the grooves on the LA Explosion record.”
The new record will feature artwork by Raymond Pettibon, who created much of the iconic artwork for Black Flag. The lineup for the record includes: Joe [vocals, guitar] and Mike Nolte [vocals, keyboard], Bill Stevenson [drums], and Karl Alvarez [bass]. Additions include the production and drum talents of Stevenson (listed #25 on Spin’s Top 100 Alternative Drummers and producer of albums by Rise Against, Alkaline Trio, NOFX, and Lemonheads), and the raw power of Alvarez (Descendents, ALL).
