0The Rise and Fall of Lookout! Records [Book] Now Available
Lookout! Records was the birthplace of Green Day and helped flourish the underground scene. Now, there’s a book about this shit! PUNK USA: The Rise and Fall of Lookout! Records tells the story through the participants own voices through hundreds of exclusive interviews.
Lawrence Livermore founded an independent label in 1987 to release records by his own band, the Lookouts. He formed a partnership with David Haynes and the label went on to release some of the most influential recordings from California’s East Bay punk scene. Bands such as Green Day, Crimpshrine, Operation Ivy, the Mr. T Experience, and many more, were released on the label.
Music journalist Kevin Prested wrote for the official Lookout! Records blog and website and now has successfully ventured onto the book, PUNK USA: The Rise and Fall of Lookout! Records. It’s designed to make the reader feel good about being alive and take an active role in bettering their life and impacting the world around them. You can purchase the book now HERE.
