Forming a mere five years ago, The Wonder Years are now part of the Hopeless Records’ roster and have two EP’s and two full-lengths under their belt. Â With a pop-punk sound that appeals to an array of music fans everywhere, I see great things for this band in the future!

This is a reissue, so it’s not like it’s anything completely brand new… however, it’s all brand new to me! This is a great album for fans of upbeat, pop-punk music. Â While most of the album is pretty standard, ukuleles and trombones accompany Dan’s vocals on the track, Hey Thanks, which is a unique change from the rest of songs. The album as a whole sticks to pretty positive lyrics, so we can safely say they are no kin to The Meatmen (damn!). While the band stays pretty safe with it’s musical ventures, they’re not far from the usual Hopeless Records/ No Sleep Records sound. Â They remind me a lot of the young, New Jersey based band, A Clear Blurr, who recently called it quits 🙁 Â They’re also reminiscent of Taking Back Sunday, and other clean-cut, kinda emo-lyrical bands.
Dan “Soupy” Campbell has a great voice for this style of music, and while the band isn’t a ‘stand out’ talent, they aren’t anything to hate, either. Â They’ll make you smile and it’s hard to listen through this album without wanting to at least tap your feet, so what more can you ask for? Check the album out, available tomorrow on No Sleep Records.
