ThxSoMch Announces Debut Record (Total Weirdo, You’ll Love it)
Toronto, Canada-based ThxSoMch announces his debut album, The Sound of You Laughing, out August 29 via Atlantic Records. You can pre-order the album now and check him out on his North America tour this fall (with so Europe dates as well). Check out those dates on the official site.

LOOK, I’m not gonna lie. This is not usually the type of artist that I post about, let alone listen to. However… let me tell you. I am probably in the top 3 Spotify listeners this kid has (LOL), so for whatever reason, it’s catchy and sticks with me and I listen to him often. So if that’s not enough reasoning to check it out, I don’t know what is! My favorite tracks are SPIT IN MY FACE, Hide Your Kids, and Keep it Tucked.

Recorded over seven months in Brazil, isolated from everything and everyone he knows alongside producer grayskies, ThxSoMch poured himself into a body of work that fully captures everything he is today–it’s vulnerable, raw and made with true intention and a clear purpose. Recalling what it felt like to make, the artist shares, “It put me in the best mental place I’ve been in for a long time. No phone, no English, no sense of time—just a flow state that let me escape everything else. Creating this was like a cigarette after a long craving. I hope it can be that for someone else too—a fix, a release, something to hold onto when everything else slips. It’s the sound of acceptance and the sound of burying what’s really going on. It’s mockery and coping, choking and surviving.”
The fully-charged project, mixed by legendary producer and engineer Mike Crossey, sees the multi-faceted songwriter, producer and performer find his own sound that disrupts both rock and rap as he delivers a fast-paced, exhilarating and honest examination of the self and life’s impermanence.
Full of energy and emotion, ThxSoMch continues, “It isn’t a cure—it’s a distraction. A pause. A breath between breakdowns. Just long enough to feel okay before the weight comes back. You can’t laugh forever. You laugh until you choke. And then it’s not so funny anymore.”
ThxSoMch can’t wait to take the new music on the road, prepped with his most raucous live show yet. The tour will kick off in Salt Lake City on September 22 and will tear through Colorado, Texas and much of California, up the West Coast into three Canada dates and down the East Coast including New York, Philadelphia and D.C. November will see Atlanta, Charlotte and some of the Midwest including Chicago and Minneapolis before the tour electrifies Europe through December including stops in Prague, London Paris, Dublin and more.

Since then, after touring the U.S., Europe and taking the Rolling Loud stage, the artist has only continued to elevate, evolve and expand his artistry and fast-growing, fervent global fan base, boasting over 414K followers on TikTok.
