Traveler is a melodic hardcore band from Cleveland Ohio, who are taking the DIY approach to releasing material. This band definitely means what they say, because not only is the EP available for free download through their bandcamp page, but they are also taking DIY international by partnering up with Wolfpack Records (Germany) to do a exclusive release with them. Touching on different demographics is key in the development of a band, and the fact that Traveler is going international this soon is pretty ballzy and admirable.

Traveler have a ton of influences and it shows through their energetic recordings. Influences include: American Football, Trapped Under Ice, Balance and Composure, Transit, Title Fight, Shai Hulud, Latterman, Lifetime, Have Heart, and Verse. When you listen to Traveler you can see where each band influences them, but Traveler makes the music their own and are not trying to duplicate what someone else did.

This band is delivering the sweat dripping from the walls and ceiling, the heat hugging moisture in the air, sweat drenched armpits, dozens of kids leaping off stage into a crowd of eager hardcore show goers; that is the image that comes to mind when i’m just listening to their music.

In the short five months that Traveler has been around they have manged to write 4 songs and record an EP, along with getting international promotion and support from Wolfpack Records (Gremany). Traveler plan on recording their next second EP in October with hopes of playing shows in late November after their second EP is released. It doesn’t sound like putting on the brakes is in Traveler’s future, seems like they’ll be punching their way through the scene to make a name for themselves.
