From the get go, Trigonometry gives you an upbeat, catchy first track with “Drive Me Crazy,†showing you that these recent high school grads aren’t your average garage band. With a sound that far surpasses their age, they give you everything from sing-along choruses to slow ballads, and you won’t be disappointed in between.
One of the tracks that popped out to me during my first listen was “Barely Breathing,†which sits at the track nine spot. I am amazed that guys that just graduated high school can have such a clean, memorable sound. Once you listen through the album, there’s always a song or two you just can’t get out of your head.  Then there’s number 12, “Tinted Blue,†which vocalist Tom Kenney told me was his favorite track to listen to on the album, which is more of a slow ballad, kind of a “Good Riddance†(Green Day) feeling to it. It may not be what they do the most, but they definitely do it well. I can’t help but be reminded of one of the most successful indie bands of all time, Alkaline Trio, when I hear this track, because I think of their slow ballad, “Blue in the Face,†which was always a favorite of mine.
John Collura, former guitarist of The Ataris, co-produced the album, and I think that the band has a hint of Ataris appeal. Clean vocals and likable riffs and choruses make this an album you can listen to from beginning to end.
